Inflation fans are used to inflate the pocket of ait between two layers of film. This creates a twinskin effect.
Greenhouse films on there own has very little insulation value. However, inflating the air in between two layers of plastic or film will provide additional insulation. This improves the ability to retain temperatures through cold nights by increasing the humidity inside the structure. In addition to better insulating the greenhouse, a double layer inflation system has real structural benefits as it can help absorb strong winds.
